How do you know that your food is healthy?

You might think your food is healthy, because it looks so. However, there are many popular foods that are not actually healthy as they look. Be careful not to be in that trap!

Veggie Chips

Many veggie chips are made with potato or corn starch. Also many of them are deep fried in oil. In order to get real vegetable chips, choose the ones made by baking vegetables like kale and broccoli.

Fruit Juice

Most of fruit juice is concentrated and sugar is added to it. It is not the same as eating flesh fruits.

Dried fruits

To make them taste like candies, many of dried fruits are coated with sugar. If you want to eat fruits for health, eat them flesh.

Salad/Salad dressing

If you pick salad for low calories, be careful on salad dressings. If you want to eat salad for healthy choice, use olive oil, vinegar or lemon juice instead of dressings.

Sushi

When we think about sushi, we tend to overgeneralize that they are raw fish. But, many of the popular rolls have deep fried food and/or mayonnaise that adds tons of calories.

Smoothies

When it's called smoothies, we consider its the same as the ones we make at home, but not. Smoothies you get at stores have syrups and sugars added. If you want to smoothies, making at home is the best.
