What happens when you want a specific tattoo but know that future-you wouldn't approve? You can either get the tattoo and leave future-you with regret or leave your skin alone and miss out on the self expression.

This is the problem we faced. Why wasn't there an option for wearing a true temporary tattoo - one that gave you the look and feel of a traditional tattoo, without any of the commitment?

So we set out to create it.

After months of research we came across indigenous tribes deep in the jungles of Panama who, for thousands of years, have been tattooing their skin with the pulp of a fruit. They call it Genipapo or Huito.

We worked with these local tribes to bring this ancient form of tattooing into the future. We call it inkbox.

We're proud to donate a percentage of every sale to support these tribes through the Darién Initiative.

How it works?

Each Inkbox tattoo comes in the form of a four-layer stick-on pad that contains the ink and the stencil of the design. To use, simply place it with the stencil facing down on the skin, dampen it with a wet towel for 10 minutes, and peel the pad away. Done. The pad, by the way, can be reused once (second application will only last up to 10 days, though), so you can tattoo the same design elsewhere on your body.

What is the secret of the ink?

Using a patent-pending ink formula derived from the fruit of the Genipa Americana, the temporary tattoo can hold fast for up to two weeks at a time, giving you a design with the longevity of henna and the convenience of a tattoo decal. And, yes, you can take as many showers as you want during those two weeks (thank God) without ruining the tat, which can be a good thing (if you like the design) or a bad thing (if your friends stuck it on your forehead).
