Surprising Beauty Uses of Coconut Oil!

目次

Coconut oils is multitasking!

Here are some surprising use of it!

Natural Makeup Remover

Just a small dab of coconut oil will quickly liquefy eye makeup, making it easy to wipe off. Rub coconut oil gently onto the upper lids and lower lids in a circular motion. Wipe off with a warm cloth. The benefit over commercial eye makeup removers, is that coconut oil will not sting or irritate eyes, and as a bonus, will help to hydrate around the eyes.

Shaving

Ran out of shaving cream? Coconut oil to the rescue! Just warm the jar under the water and smooth onto legs before shaving. Your razor will glide smoothly, allowing for a super-close shave, and your legs will be moisturized from the oil in the process. Tip: shave outside the shower. The oil is very slippery, so you'll have an easier time holding onto your razor if your hands are dry.

Tanning

Instead of toxic sunscreens, I’ve been using coconut oil to tan and protect my skin while I’m in the sun.

In fact, many islanders in the Pacific have been using it for years. Coconut oil is 100% natural and free of toxic chemicals, affordable, efficient and smells great!

Deodorant

Sweat on its own typically doesn’t smell. In fact, most sweat doesn’t smell at all, since most sweat glands on our body are eccrine, which produces mostly water with some salt and maybe some uric acid. Apocrine sweat glands become active during puberty, and produce sweat from our underarms, around the genitals, etc. The sweat from apocrine glands has other stuff in it, such as lipids (fats.) When the bacteria on our skin feed on these fats, the byproducts smell. Like store-bought deodorant, coconut oil helps decrease the bacteria count that’s causing the odor. Mix about a tablespoon of arrowroot powder into 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil for an easy homemade deodorant. Apply as needed; adding beeswax to solidify it some if you feel the coconut oil is too thin on its own.

Toothpaste

Mix equal parts of coconut oil with baking soda then add a few drops of peppermint essential oil for homemade toothpaste. Try my recipe for homemade probiotic toothpaste with coconut oil, Bentonite Clay, probiotics and peppermint essential oil.

Highlighter

Glowy, fresh skin is in! But if that doesn't come naturally for you, just dab a little liquified coconut oil onto the tops of your cheekbones, cupid's bow (the dip above your upper lip) and just above eyebrows for hydrated skin that looks lit from within.

Face wash

Coconut oil can be used in natural face wash recipe to cleanse an moisturize. Mix with lavender oil, tea tree oil and raw honey for best results.
