Wrinkles on your neck can make you look older

Here are tips to reduce and prevent wrinkles on neck!

Moisturize

Cleanse your neck and décolletage both morning and night. After the morning cleanse, apply moisturiser, using an upward, circular motion from the top of your cleavage to under your chin – massage it in well to boost circulation. Your neck skin might require a richer product than the one you use on your face.

In the evening, apply anti-ageing cream, either the same one you use on your face or one specifically for the neck. Most night creams now contain vitamins and antioxidants, such as Vitamin A, C and E and beta carotene, which are powerful anti-ageing ingredients. CoQ10 is a powerful nutrient that helps prevent cell damage.

Exercise

According to Face Yoga Expert Danielle Collins, an exercise called ‘giraffe’ can help tone and lift the neck area. Here’s how to do the pose:
Looking straight ahead place your finger tips on the top of your neck and lightly stroke the skin down as you tilt your head back. Bring your head back down and repeat it twice more. Then jut your lower lip out as far as possible, place your fingers on your collarbone and point your chin upwards pulling the corners of your mouth down. Hold for 4 deep breaths. Relax, repeat.

Sunscreen

Wear a sunscreen when working outdoors that contains at least SPF 15. Sun damage is one of the prime causes of wrinkles, so keep yourself protected to prevent further ones from forming.

Supplements

Keep your nutrition rich in anti-oxidants, especially Omega-3 acids, which are present in oily fish. These do wonders for skin rejuvenation by boosting collagen production. Eat at least one portion of salmon, mackerel or sardines a week and take a daily fish-oil supplement.

Pomegranates, acai berries, blueberries and green tea also help you stock up on antioxidants.

Exfoliate

Exercise your face and neck each day. This will tighten the musculature of your neck and pull in sagging skin a bit. Try sitting and lifting your head up toward the ceiling. While in this position, pucker your lips up like you're trying to kiss the sky. For an added workout, stick your tongue out and try to touch your chin with it. After holding for several seconds, you should feel the tension in your neck.

Sleep with a right pillow

Using a pillow with a wrong height will create wrinkles on your neck.

If it's difficult to find a perfect pillow for you, use a towel. Fold or roll a towel to keep you hear in a right angle while you are sleeping.
