Keep yourself look awake!

Eye makeup is the key to keep you look awake!

1. Curl your eyelashes

If you can barely keep your eyes open, grab your eyelash curler. A bigger, defined curl will help your eyes appear larger. Blast your curler with your blowdryer for a few seconds before using it for a long-lasting curl.

But don't use black. To make your eyes look bigger and brighter, trace a nude eyeliner (like Tarte EmphasEYES™ Inner Rim Brightener, $18; Sephora.com) on the inner rims of your lower lashline. "Make sure the liner is a beige-y color and not too white," says Tim Quinn, celebrity makeup artist for Giorgio Armani Beauty. "Beige looks more natural and does a better job of neutralizing redness in or around the eyes."

2. Put concealer in a triangular shape

Think the red lipstick trick looks too hard? Try this one instead — it's the fastest way to cover up imperfections under your eye. Bonus: The inverted triangle also gives the illusion of a mini facelift without going under the knife. Yes, it may seem a little over the top, but you can't deny Cosmo's Brooke Shunatona (above) looks so awake in the after photo!

3. Pay attention to the shape of your brows

Bring attention away from under eye bags with bold, arched brows that lift the eyes. Use a brow pencil or taupe eye shadow to fill in the brows with feathery strokes. Finish by brushing them out and up with a spoolie brush for a natural-looking finish.

4. Take care of the dark circles

The antidote to really dark undereye circles is a combination of two concealers. Start with a pale pink concealer to correct the purple-green color of your circles. Then layer on your usual (yellow-toned) concealer. Make sure you apply concealer under each eye, up to its lash line and toward its inner corner. Use your fingers to gently pat and blend the concealer; then lock it in place with loose powder (in a yellow tone) applied with a velour puff.

5. Use three different eye liners

Black on top and black on bottom can make your eyes appear smaller. Instead, use black liner for your top lid, a lighter brown for your bottom lid, and nude liner for your water line. It'll make your eyes look wide-awake. Here, the ladies at Cosmo prove just how much a dab of nude eyeliner can help.

And make sure you're lining both lids to begin with. If you just stick to the bottom or top lids alone, you run the risk of your eyes looking smaller all over again.

6. Highlight your lids

The beauty editors at Cosmopolitan.com have a surefire way to look more reefreshed instantly — highlight all over. Two spots they suggest you never miss? Directly under your brow and in the corner of your lids. You can also use white eyeliner to outline your brows to make them pop against dull, tired skin.
