I went with the Gillette Venus Silk-expert powered by Braun because it’s the only IPL in-home device that uses SensoAdapt technology, a skin tone sensor that “reads” your skin to deliver the right amount of light. Oh, and it’s super pretty too (that white and rose gold combo though!).

but be sure to shave prior to using the device on any part of your skin. If you don’t, you’ll just be burning the hair at the top of the skin, not at the root of the hair — and it won’t help reduce hair growth at all.

You can use the device continuously through an IPL session by holding the button down and gliding it slowly over the skin.

You start out by using this device consistently (once a week for 12 weeks), but after that, you only really have to do it once a month, maybe even less down the road.
