DON'T SLEEP ON YOUR LASH CURLER

"One of the most important steps a lot of girls skip is curling their lashes," Dedivanovic notes. "To get that really beautiful, wide open eye look, you want to curl the lashes really well at least once or twice throughout the makeup application — before you apply mascara and after." Clamp down at the base, then the middle, then one last squeeze at the end of your lashes makes all the difference.

Let your mascara wand graze your undereyes when you apply mascara

When you apply mascara, an accidental smudge of the wand on the skin typically warrants a [insert expletive here] that disrupts your perfectly-blended concealer or eyeshadow. But according to Jenner, via Kardashian makeup artist Joyce Bonelli, it can actually help you bring on the drama—on the bottom, at least. When you swipe the mascara wand over your lower lashes, allow the wand to lightly transfer lines of pigment for an even more exaggerated lashline.

LASH ON LASH ON LASH

To take your lash game up a few more notches for a special night out, use Dedivanovic's genius layering trick. "I love using Ardell's individual lashes. Get a pack that comes with both medium and long lashes, then apply them one by one going back and forth between medium and long to get that wispy effect." You can build up the look to go all-out like Kylie or just add a few on the outer corners for extra-feathery fringe.

Use tape for a picture-perfect cat eye

Kylie takes short pieces of tape, aligns them with angle of her brow arch, then places them at the outer corners of her eyes, using them like a stencil as she smudges out wings. When you peel off the tape you have a razor-sharp line that only *looks* like it took mind-numbing precision to create.

Strobe underneath your foundation, instead of on top of it

Strobing may be a more pared-down version of contouring, but you still don't want to overdo it, which is why Jenner likes to apply Koh Gen Do Foundation Illuminator AKA "strobing stuff" on the high planes of her face (cheekbones, cupid's bow, etc.) using a Beauty Blender before her foundation base.

CHEAT FULLER LIPS

What is the biggest beauty lesson Kylie's taught her makeup artist? "How to over-line lips. She's a pro at it!" Dedivanovic reveals. To avoid going overboard, follow this easy tip: "It will look more natural if you fill out the shape more towards the center of your lips — not along the outside corners." To nail Kylie's signature pinky-brown matte lip look, first, Dedivanovic defines the shape with Stripdown Liner from MAC, then sweeps on a mix of Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks in Veronica and Sepia.
