Here are some of those benefits. Take the advantages!

What is Parsley?

Parsley is an herb that originated in the Mediterranean region of southern Italy, Algeria, and Tunisia. This herb is known scientifically as Petroselinum hortense and Petroselinum crispum and it belongs to the family Apiaceae.

Diabetes Prevention

Myricetin has also been evaluated for its effectiveness in the treatment and prevention of diabetes. Laboratory and animal studies have shown that myricetin can lower blood sugars and decrease insulin resistance; it also appears to provide anti-inflammatory effects and reduce excess fat from the blood.

Anti-Inflammatory

Parsley has traditionally been used in the Mediterranean region for toothaches, bruises, insect bites, and rough skin. According to preliminary studies conducted at the King Saud University by Al-Howiriny et al., parsley displayed anti-inflammatory and anti-hepatotoxicity properties. The anti-inflammatory properties reduce in internal inflammations, while the anti-hepatotoxic properties help to cleanse the liver.

Cancer Prevention

Parsley is rich in cancer-fighting compounds. Early studies suggest that compounds in parsley may even inhibit tumor growth!

Enhance Your Immune System

Parsley might help boost the immune system. Parsley essential oil has been proven to suppress an overstimulated immune response, which makes it a crucial player in the fight against allergies, auto-immune and persistent inflammatory disorders.

Bad Breath Treatment

Suffer from halitosis (breath odour)? Parsley can help! It is rich in chlorophyll to help neutralize bad breath, and acts as a deodorizer and anti-mutagen. So don’t skip over that parsley garnish on your plate – it’ll help cleanse you palate and freshen your breath at the end of your meal.
