It’s winter! Season of boots!

But, boots tend to get smelly…
Here are the tip to keep your boots and feet nice and clean!

Change socks frequently

Of course boots gets smelly, but your socks get smelly, too. To keep you feet and boots clean, don’t forget to change socks!

Store boots in a proper way

Your boots need to be stored in a proper way. Bacteria that causes the bad smell grows in dark and humid place. Avoid those places to keep your boots.

Dry them

Wet boots will smell. After you sweat or rainy day, don’t forget to dry them. Using hair drier or put it by a heater will dry the boots quickly.

Put it under the sun

UV lights will kill the bacteria that causes the smelly feet!

Rotate wearing your boots

Don’t wear the same boots everyday. Have 2 pairs or more to rest and maintain your boots.

DIY Spray

Make your own spray to keep your boots clean!

Ingredients
1 cup (8 fluid ounces) organic witch hazel extract
1 cup (8 fluid ounces) organic hydrosol (flower water) blend — peppermint, tea tree, eucalyptus, and/or rosemary
1 tsp organic menthol crystals
1 tablespoon organic thyme extract, optional
20 drops essential oils of ravensara aromatica

Measure one (1) cup of organic witch hazel extract and to it add organic menthol crystals.
Stir briskly until crystals have dissolved.
Add to mixture your choice of hydrosols (flower water). Money Saving Tip: Instead of using hydrosols you may substitute a strong herbal tea infusion using water and peppermint, eucalyptus, rosemary and/or thyme leaves.
Pour into a mister bottle or spray bottle of some sort.
Add organic thyme extract and essential oils of ravensara aromatica. Note: I purchase Ravensara here.
Label bottle with name, contents, and date created. Note: Deodorant spray will keep on the counter for 2-3 years.
